Rasraj Ras is a classical Rasashastra Rasayana traditionally used to support recovery in paralysis, facial palsy, and sciatica, strengthening nerve and muscle function in Vata-origin disorders.
Rasraj Ras is a classical Rasashastra formulation described in the Bhaishajya Ratnavali (Vatavyadhi Chikitsa), prepared from purified mercury and Abhraka Satva combined with Bhasmas of gold, iron, silver, and tin, triturated with Ashwagandha, clove, mace, and Kakamachi juice.
It is traditionally regarded as one of Ayurveda's principal Vatahara (Vata-pacifying) Rasayanas, indicated for neuro-muscular conditions such as paralysis, facial palsy, hemiplegia, and sciatica.
In Ayurveda, paralysis, tremors, and chronic neuromuscular weakness are classically attributed to severely aggravated Vata dosha disrupting nerve conduction and the nourishment of muscle tissue (Mamsa Dhatu).
Rasraj Ras is classically prepared by triturating purified mercury and Abhraka Satva with fine Bhasmas of gold, iron, silver, and tin, grinding the mixture with Ashwagandha, Lavanga, Javitri, and Ksheera Kakoli, and finally triturating it with Kakamachi juice, as described in the Bhaishajya Ratnavali.
Its Ushna (warming) and Vatahara properties are traditionally understood to penetrate deep into nerve tissue (Majja Dhatu) to help restore nerve conductivity, relieve stiffness, and rebuild muscular strength.
The classical base of many Rasa Shastra formulations, traditionally described as Krimighna and Rasayana when properly processed and purified.
A traditional Rasashastra ingredient classically used for its Kapha-Ama clearing and lymphatic-supportive properties.
Classically included in formulations for glandular and metabolic disorders for its traditional Kapha-pacifying action.
Used in classical preparation as a Tridosha-balancing decoction base, traditionally regarded as Rasayana and digestive-supportive.
