Kapardak Bhasm is a powerful classical Ayurvedic formula designed to support overall wellness and vitality. This traditional preparation promotes energy, strength, and general health. Use regularly under expert guidance for optimal benefits.
Kapardak Bhasma (also known as Varatika Bhasma or Cowrie Bhasma) is a classical Ayurvedic mineral preparation made from purified and calcined cowry shells (Kapardika), referenced in texts such as the Bhaishajya Ratnavali under the Raktapittadhikara (bleeding disorders chapter).
Within classical women's health practice, it is traditionally indicated for Atyartava (excessive menstrual bleeding) and other Raktapitta-type conditions, alongside its well-documented classical role as a Pitta-pacifying antacid for digestive discomfort.
In Ayurveda, excessive menstrual bleeding and related Raktapitta conditions are classically attributed to aggravated Pitta dosha disturbing the Raktavaha Srotas (blood-carrying channels).
Kapardak Bhasma is prepared by purifying cowry shells and calcining them through repeated traditional Marana (incineration) with prescribed herbal media, yielding a fine, cooling ash classically described as Pittahara (Pitta-pacifying) and Sheeta Virya (cooling in potency).
This cooling, astringent classical action is traditionally said to help calm aggravated Pitta at the site of bleeding, while its alkaline nature is separately valued in classical digestive formulations for neutralizing excess stomach acid.
The sole active ingredient — calcium carbonate-rich cowry shells purified and calcined through classical Rasashastra methods, referenced in the Bhaishajya Ratnavali for Raktapitta.
