Ajirn Kantak Ras is a classical Rasashastra formulation traditionally used for fast relief from acute indigestion, bloating, and discomfort following heavy or excessive meals.
Ajirna Kantak Ras is a classical Rasashastra formulation described in texts such as the Rasaratna Samuchaya, prepared from purified Hingula (mercury sulphide), purified Vatsanabha (Aconitum ferox), Tankan Bhasma (purified borax), Pippali, and Maricha, processed with lemon juice.
It is traditionally indicated for Ajirna (indigestion) arising from overeating, heavy or incompatible food, and weak digestive power, and is classically valued for its fast-acting Deepana-Pachana (digestive-kindling) effect.
In Ayurveda, Ajirna (indigestion) is classically understood to arise when Agni (digestive fire) is overwhelmed by excessive or incompatible food intake, allowing undigested matter to form Ama in the gastrointestinal tract.
Ajirna Kantak Ras is classically prepared by triturating purified Hingula and Vatsanabha with Tankan Bhasma, Pippali, and Maricha, using lemon juice as the grinding medium, following the method described in the Rasaratna Samuchaya, and formed into small tablets.
Its intensely Ushna (heating) and Deepana properties are traditionally believed to sharply rekindle sluggish Agni, helping the body rapidly digest accumulated food and relieve the heaviness and discomfort of acute indigestion.
The classical base of many Rasa Shastra formulations, traditionally described as Krimighna and Rasayana when properly processed and purified.
A traditional Rasashastra ingredient classically used for its Kapha-Ama clearing and lymphatic-supportive properties.
